What to Do in Phnom Penh on the Weekend?

Working all week and then just lying in your room on the weekend? What a waste!
Here are some places we usually hang out 👇

1. AEON Mall or Chip Mong Mall
– There are two AEON Malls: AEON 1 (near the city center) and AEON 2 (in Sen Sok – twice as big).
– You can find everything here: food, supermarket, cinema, and arcade games.

2. Stroll along Riverside – enjoy the view, the people, and the sunset
– Evening walks by the river are the best. You’ll see people exercising, small groups picnicking, and street vendors selling all kinds of snacks.
– Sit at a roadside café, grab a drink, and some skewers – simple but perfect.

3. BBQ & Hotpot Buffets
Some easy-to-go, weekend-promo favorites:
Bayon BBQ – good food, starts from $6.99
Sushi BBQ, Buffet Hot Pot Phnom Penh – lots of variety, including Japanese and hotpot dishes.

4. Relax with a spa or massage
Tired shoulders or neck after a long week? A massage session will bring you back to life.

5. Chill coffee time ☕
– Phnom Penh is full of cute cafés – cool air-con spots to escape the heat.
– Try Brown Coffee (big chain, many branches), or Feel Good, Tube Coffee, ToTo – nice ambiance, good drinks, and desserts.
– Want Instagram pics? Rooftop cafés at night are totally worth it!

6. Weekend markets – shop & explore
Russian Market – lots of Vietnamese goods, secondhand clothes, and home décor.
Orussey Market – the “Ben Thanh Market” of Phnom Penh – you can find everything from cookware to cosmetics.
– Best to go early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat and crowd.
